Five Film Fridays NYC is where emerging voices meet the people shaping what’s next. Create The Writers Room brings its signature filmmaker showcase to New York City for an evening of curated short films, meaningful connection, and conversations about the future of storytelling. Rickey Castleberry, Founder of CTWR, joins Mark Wright, VP of Film at Higher Ground, for a conversation on Who Gets to Tell the Story?, followed by Eric Keith moderating a conversation with entertainment attorney Marcie Cleary and Khalid Jordan of M88 on navigating the business of getting stories into the room. The evening closes with Evening Espresso, featuring Jayson Council, Head of Culture at Gersh, in conversation with Emmai Alaquiva, 6X Emmy, 3X Webby and NAACP Award-winning Director—a night built around film, culture, access, connection, and the voices shaping what comes next.
